cheering them on from the sidelines!

The
Wild Card matchups have completed and there were a few upsets
in round one. Moving on are St. Louis, Indianapolis, New York
& Minnesota.
Noteable
results included Doug Brien's 28-yard field goal with 5 seconds
left in overtime to get linebacker Eric Barton off the hook
for a huge penalty and give the Jets a 20-17 upset over the
Chargers.
Also,
in the second NFC game, the Vikings rolled to a 31-17 upset
victory against the stunned GB Packers. Minnesota, joining
St. Louis as the only 8-8 teams ever to win in the playoffs,
will travel to Philadelphia after dominating the first postseason
meeting with their bitter border rivals.
The
matchup
to watch on the 16th will defintely be the New England
- Indianapolis game with 2 AFC powerhouses battling it out
to see who moves on. Pick
your favourites and place a wager now!

NFL
Playoff Brackets look like this for round 2:
| (New
York AP) As dozens of cameras clicked away in a stuffy room
packed with reporters, the Big Unit then made his first pitch
as a member of the New York Yankees: an apology.
Johnson opened Tuesday's news conference by talking about
his confrontation on a Manhattan sidewalk with a television
cameraman on the way to his physical the previous day.
''It was unprofessional and, obviously, I feel very foolish
today, at such a great moment in my career, that I would have
to sit before all of you, or stand before all you, and apologize
for my actions,'' Johnson said.
He
said he had seen the video and felt ''terrible'' and ''embarrassed.''
''Come to one of the biggest media markets, one of the winningest
franchises in the history of any sport, and that's the way
I enter? I'm sorry, I don't know how many more times I can
say that,'' he added. ''I hope I can move on and can get another
chance to prove that I'm worth coming here.''
All
he has to do is deliver the championship owner George Steinbrenner
demands.

WINSTON-SALEM,
N.C. (AP) -- Justin Gray walks around all day with a bulky
brace on his right arm that cradles his aching wrist. It only
comes off when he's on the court, and then he forgets all
about his strained tendons.
Gray
has shown zero effects of the injury he suffered three games
ago, continuing his torrid shooting streak by scoring 25 points
to lead No. 4 Wake Forest to an 81-66 victory over Maryland
on Tuesday night.
"I
messed up the tendons in my wrist against Virginia, but I
hope it stays banged up for the rest of the season,"
Gray said. "I'm just feeling it right now."
Gray
made a season-high six 3-pointers while helping the Demon
Deacons (14-1, 3-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) avenge their
87-86 loss to Maryland in the first round of the ACC tournament
last season.
Gray
was off in that loss, scoring just 14 points.
There
was no chance of that in this meeting since Gray is playing
the best basketball of his career. He had 31 points in a win
over Clemson on Saturday, and has 55 points and 11 3-pointers
the past two games.
Maryland
was awful in every area during the first half, failing to
set plays or look for shots. Maryland shot just 37 percent
in the first half, missed all seven of its 3-point attempts
and struggled at the line on 2-of-8 free throw shooting.
Maryland
finished 1-of-14 from 3-point range.

Stoudemire scored 34 points and the Suns won their seventh
straight, and 18th in 19 games, 122-107 over the Heat on Tuesday
night in what turned out to be a mismatch of the teams with
the best record in the West and East.
All
five Suns starters hit double figures - in the first half
- and Phoenix improved its NBA-best record to 31-4, the sixth-best
start for a team with four losses in league history. Four
of the five ahead of them went on to win the NBA title.
"I
don't know that I've seen a quicker team in my 10 years in
the league," Miami coach Stan Van Gundy said. "They've
got great athletes at every position."
Shawn
Marion added 26 points and 11 rebounds, Victoria's Steve Nash
16 points and 16 assists and Joe Johnson 24 points and nine
rebounds for the Suns, who topped 120 points for the second
game in a row and seventh time this season.
"Just
right now it's fitting all together," Phoenix coach Mike
D'Antoni said. "He (Nash) makes it look easy, and the
other guys make it look easy. They play off each other. This
is probably our best stretch we've had all year."
O'Neal
had 34 points and 11 rebounds, but the Heat - beaten at Seattle
on Sunday - lost two in a row for only the second time this
season. The first was early November, the fifth and sixth
games of the season. Dwyane Wade added 23 points for Miami.
